Counseling
Counseling is a major part of NCO. Pastor Elfner has a Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and very active in updated techniques of Counseling methods. Pastor Elfner is easy to get to know and talk to. He deals in such areas as Stress Resolution, Family counseling, personal addictions, and crisis situations.
Community Outreach
Pastor Elfner is available to the community. He is a Certified Chaplain and serves the Police Departments in the communities of Novi, Walled Lake, Wolverine Lake, and Wixom. He is a Chaplain for the Oakland County Medical Examiner and the Oakland Police Academy. He is Certified in Critical Incident Stress Management through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and is a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, and the Oakland County Crisis Response Organization. Through these affiliations he has the opportunity to minister to people in the community in times of emotional stress and sorrow.
Another Way Pregnancy Center
First Baptist Church of Novi is an active participant with this organization in an effort to provide spiritual assistance for individuals having to make important decisions concerning a pregnancy.
Novi Food Pantry
The church operates in conjunction with other Novi Churches to provide families with food necessities in times of need. Donations can be made at First Baptist Church of Novi -or- directly at the Faith Community Presbyterian Church, located at 44400 West Ten Mile Road. (248) 349-5666
